在历年高考中完型填空是比较容易失分的题目，虽然看上去也是选择题，但却与语法和词汇的单项选择题大不一样。完型填空综合考察学生的语言知识、阅读能力和总体语言水平，检查学生在有信息空缺的前提下理解整篇文章的能力，要求通过上下文判断，选择恰当的单词或词组填入空格中，使之成为上下合乎逻辑、语言通顺、意义连贯的文章。
完型填空的解题思路
很多同学在做完型填空的时候，喜欢看一题做一题，结果错误率极高，因为他放弃了文章对于每一个空格的限制和约束。完型填空是一篇语言紧凑，内容严紧的文章，因此绝对不可以脱离文章背景信息，依靠感觉或所谓语感进行无根据猜测的。解出完型填空的基本方法实际上就是：通过已知信息破解未知信息。
做好完型填空要按照 三步法 原则，按部就班的进行
1.通读全文，了解大意
2.把握全篇， 注意语法
3.代入检查， 提高成绩

分析： 首先通读文章，把握大意：作者一次就餐经历： 我在一家餐厅吃饭， 竟然被侦探认为是嫌疑犯， 多亏我经常在这家餐厅吃饭，和每个人都很熟，才化险为夷， 平安无事。

49 A met 遇见，很明显这里侦探是跟踪 我才来到的饭馆B caught抓住，而实际上侦探发现跟错人后就离开了，而并没有抓 我 C followed 跟踪 D discovered 发现 因此选择C
50. 根据句意： 他以为你是他一直寻找的人，因此才会跟踪而至，因此选择D was looking for
51. 根据上文的语气What ? I said, 什么，怎么会这样？因此选择 B.surprise
52 I say he looked very much like you ! 感叹句，表示强烈的感情色彩， must do表示肯定的推断因此选择A must
53. A make a discovery 发现B make a mistake 犯错C make a decision 下决心，决定 D make a fortune 赚大钱。根据上下文选择B
